Welcome
From 2002 to 2011, I was breeding and raising "Cadbury" standard poodles from my home. Earlier in 2011, my friend and mentor Fran Fischer, passed away. Fran encouraged me to breed under the Cadbury name, a name she chose herself when she started breeding brown standard poodles nearly 40 years ago.
She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her as well as by those who knew of the outstanding work she did for the breed. Her care in home raising and socializing puppies that where products of parents with impeccable temperaments, stellar health and great form and beauty made a difference to many in the world. It was with great passion and pride that I bred under her and along side her, myself focusing on raising service, therapy and companion dogs. The work I did gave my family and me great pleasure, fond memories and many new friends.
With Fran's death I pay homage to her and let her kennel name go along with her. I have no future breeding plans as I shift my own focus to endangered animal work doing behavioral observations and enrichment, along with conservation and field photography for the Oregon Zoo and the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.
I thank photographer Carli Davidson for encouraging me. Her incredible shots of my newborn pups and many other animal both exotic and domestic (of able and alter abled bodies alike) can be found on her website carlidavidson.com (input link) Also see the Photo Tab on my website.
Check out more of her work and my brown corded poodles on her Carli Davidson Pet Photography Facebook page - under wall photos
I am leaving my site up as reference and as a source of information for others. See the "Breeding" and "Raising Puppies" pages for details on the genetics, testing, care, and socialization that make these Cadbury standard poodles so special. If you're interested, you can find out all the details of previous litters on the "Past Litters" page and the "News" pages.
"Our busy lives can easily grow insensitive to the wonders of life, leaving us spiritually impoverished and unhappy. This is perhaps why animals (particularly our dogs) are so important to us and why we benefit from their companionship: they root us in life."
